Jab Tak Hai Jaan (Translation: Till There Is Life) is an upcoming 2012 Indian romance film directed by Yash Chopra and written and produced by Aditya Chopra under their production banner Yash Raj Films. The film features Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, making it the first film to pair Khan and Kaif and the second collaboration between Khan and Sharma after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.[1] It is Yash Chopra's fourth film to feature Shahrukh Khan in the lead role and it marks his return as a director after eight years. Chopra's last film was Veer-Zaara in 2004.[2]
The background score and soundtrack is by A.R. Rahman while the lyrics are penned by Gulzar. It received positive reviews upon release. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on the six-day Diwali weekend which begins on November 13, 2012.

Khan plays a role spanning two life stages, one in his late twenties resembling that of his earlier performance Raj from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and the other at a more mature age as an introverted, composed, dutiful army officer in Ladakh.[3]
Katrina Kaif as Meera
Prior to the film's release, Kaif's role was described as "the archetypal Yash Chopra seductress, an unattainable beauty."[4] She was reported to have put in a significant amount of work to make her character believable,[5] and was helped by Khan, who had prior experience with the director. Kaif faced difficulty at times while filming in London due to the cold weather.[6]
Anushka Sharma as Akira
Anushka Sharma was reported to have been portraying the second female lead in the film. In an interview with a leading daily journal, Anushka stated, "I play a girl by the name Akira. She is a 21 year old who wants to work for Discovery Channel and make documentaries. She is extremely ambitious and would do anything to make it big and realize her dreams."[7]
Anupam Kher as Meera's father
Kaif's father in the film. He stated in an interview that his role in the film was a cameo appearance.[8]
Rishi Kapoor as Samar's father
Neetu Singh as Samar's mother
